Friday, January 14th

Wednesday, January 12th-Thursday, January 13th

  • Writing of the Film Essay
  • All Essays are due by the end of class on January 13th.
  • All Essays must be printed and turned in according to the instruction on the Film Critique Rubric
  • Essays that are not turned in on time will have a 10% deduction for each day late unless SPECIFIC accomdations are made with Mrs. Ferris prior to the deadline.
    • All students who were in class and prepare will have plenty of time to complete the essay if they are using their time well.

Thursday, January 6th-Tuesday, January 11th

  • Note taking for the Film Critique
    • ALL WORK FOR FILM CRITIQUE MUST BE COMPLETED IN CLASS unless arrangements are made ahead of time with Mrs. Ferris.

Wednesday, January 5th

  • The Film Critique

Monday, January 3rd and January 4th

  • Introduction to Film

Friday, December 10th-December 17th

  • Get your Cereal Box (with the Jingle and Paragraph)
  • Pick up a grading sheet and put your name on it
  • Bring both things to Mrs. Ferris at her desk to have Part 1 graded.
    • THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE THE END OF CLASS
  • Work on Cereal Box Project

  • Examples of Advertising Techniques in real commercials
    • If Absent:
      • Watch a kids show (cartoons for under 12 year olds) or go to YouTube and find 3 ads
      • Choose 3 commercials you saw and tell what techniques from the notes were used
      • If you use YouTube include the Links and if it is a show--Tell which show
        • (Example--Matchbox used Selective Editing because the car never fell out of the loop)
        • Email through Live.com only. Work not sent through Live.com will not be accepted. Remember your log in is: your username@sredford.k12.mi.us

  • Ad Busting
    • Either Drawn or using Photoshop
  • To Turn In:
    • If done with Photoshop it must be saved as a JPEG File and Emailed in with the writted requirements in the email
    • If Drawn make sure your name is on the back and the written requirements are on the back.

  • In class participation

Thursday, November 11th

  • Complete the Facebook Reading Article (and all the annotations)


    • You will need to copy and save it into a new Word Document in order to save your work
    • Email to Mrs. Ferris when it is done through Live.com
  • Work on any missing work and get it submitted through email before the end of the hour in order to have it on your report card.

Wednesday, November 10th

  • Complete Internet Safety Project
    • Send it through your new LIVE.com account
  • Work on any missing work you have (check StudentConnect for what that might be)

  • Review Campaign Ad Project
  • Turn in project

Tuesday, November 2nd

  • No School
